My grandpa Alfred Smith took me out on his 'line and gave me my first traps.

  • Getting to meet Dean Wilson, Paul Kirsteatter, Heimo Korth, Pete Buist
  • First fox in my own set; first fox with a snare; first lynx; first lynx in a marten pole set
  • My first REAL year of trapping in Alaska! After one year of learning the ropes, I became a full 50/50 partner on a new 'line in the White Mountains. The first time that we checked our traps, we caught nine marten.
